The Utopian Operatic Society

The Utopian Operatic Society was founded in 1903 as a re-formation of the
St Nicholas Deptford Operatic Society which began in 1898.
Utopian are a Lewisham based society and perform modern musicals, variety and music hall productions. Performance venue is the Broadway Theatre, Tyler Theatre and Bob Hope Theatre.
They also provide entertainment for older people’s clubs and organisations.


The late Leonard (Pip) Fortune greets HM The Queen in 2002 when Lewisham Theatre changed its name to Broadway Theatre. Leonard who was our president sadly died in 2003 aged 101years.
